(July 31) The Northwest Public Power Association Board of Trustees has appointed Kieran Connolly to serve as the interim executive director for the association, effective Aug. 7. Last month NWPPA announced that their current executive director, Scott Corwin, had been selected to lead the American Public Power Association as its newest president and CEO. Corwin’s last day with NWPPA will be Aug. 11.
“Kieran has a solid reputation as a natural leader who prioritizes serving customers and takes great care of his team,” said NWPPA Board President and Wheatland REA General Manager Don Smith. “We are thankful to have him at the helm while we look for Scott’s replacement.”
Connolly spent 30 years at the Bonneville Power Administration and retired in 2022; most recently he served as the vice president of generation asset management. In this position, he led over 100 staff in five organizations, including strategic direction, workforce planning, and budgets, while being responsible for river operations planning and execution for over $2 billion of annual energy production. His other roles as VP of generation asset management included congressional testimony, legal and regulatory filings, and press interviews.
