Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Distribution Designer Specialist provides design and underground project management for planned capital improvement work, improvements to serve subdivisions and commercial complexes and system maintenance work.

The Distribution Designer Specialist will have overall responsibility for design and project management of projects, which vary from routine to large and or complex.   The Distribution Designer may perform all engineering, procurement, and construction management steps from initial conception through final acceptance of the completed work.

Experience, Working Conditions and Other Requirements:

Qualified Candidates will have these minimum qualifications:

  • Associates degree in applicable engineering field or two-year technical degree from an accredited college or vocational school in applicable electrical technology.
  • Five (5) years’ experience working in underground construction design, engineering, project management or related field . An equivalent of education and experience may be qualifying.

Desirable applicants will have these qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
  • Experience with National Information Solutions Cooperative (NISC)
  • Experience with AutoCAD

Work Environment: 
The work environment conditions described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  •  Work is performed in the office Monday through Thursday 7:00 am to 5:30 pm with some field work.   Remote work is not available for this position.
