Northwest Innovations in Communications Conference

Join us in Walla Walla for the award-winning Northwest Innovations in Communications Conference! The NIC Conference covers communications and energy services topics while providing opportunities to peel back new layers of connection and insight. Your journey begins Monday, Sept. 21, with an optional volunteer event and networking opportunity, followed by a special welcome reception. Over the next two-and-a-half days, you’ll dig deeper with sessions covering energy literacy campaigns, wildfire communications, drone photography and videography, listening as a communication strategy, trust-building and reputation management, generational news consumption, artificial intelligence applications, and practical roundtables. This year’s conference also features a Dine Around Walla Walla networking dinner, engaging networking sessions, and the open-mic NIC at Night.

Thursday is not to be missed, with valuable networking time, an engaging closing keynote, and an optional post-conference workshop. When planning your return travel, please keep in mind that Walla Walla Regional Airport offers convenient afternoon and evening flight connections to major hubs, allowing you to fully participate in Thursday’s valuable programming before departing.

Excellence in Communications awards will be presented during the conference at the Wednesday evening banquet. Submit your entries between May 1-June 30, 2026 at www.nwppa.org/awards.
