Oracle Virtual Machine Implementation

The intent of this proposal is for Public Utility District No. 1 of Benton County “the District” to select a vendor to design and deploy the Oracle VM Server for x86 platform to support all the District’s Oracle databases. The remote consulting support will be complete upon the successful migration of the 4 Production VMWare VM’s being migrated to Oracle VM’s running on a certified x86 platform. The District also is looking for recommendations for Oracle licensing configurations that best meet our needs utilizing Oracle VM. This may include hard partitioning to allow us to pin a virtual machine’s CPUs to a subset of an Oracle VM Server’s CPUs, and only pay for the CPUs needed or right sizing our Production and DR/Test Servers hardware. To meet these needs, the District would like to deploy Oracle VM managed by Enterprise Manager on our standard x86 hardware, with a flexible, extensible and scalable architecture, while maintaining the highest level of manageability, stability and security.  The selected vendor will provide expertise, consulting assistance, and recommendations both on site and/or remotely.
