(May 17) On Tuesday, at Northwest Public Power Association’s 84th Annual Business Meeting in Salt Lake City, Utah, the NWPPA Board of Trustees appointed John Haarlow of Snohomish County PUD (Wash.) as the 2024-2025 NWPPA board president. The board also appointed the following officers:
- First Vice President Libby Calnon, Hood River Electric
& Internet Co-op (Ore.) - Second Vice President Joe Wilson, Tacoma Public Utilities (Wash.)
- Secretary/Treasurer Bill Swick, Kootenai Electric Cooperative (Idaho)
- Immediate Past President Doug Schmier, Fall River
Rural Electric Cooperative (Idaho)
Also at the meeting, NWPPA membership elected the following individuals to the board of trustees for a first three-year term:
- Emily Compton, Plumas-Sierra Rural Electric Cooperative (Calif.)
- Mark Hayden, Missoula Electric Cooperative (Mont.)
- Lon Rake, Copper Valley Electric Association (Alaska)
- Bill Stamm, Alaska Village Electric Cooperative (Alaska)
- Bart Stanley Miller, Heber Light & Power Company (Utah)
Membership also elected the following interim trustees to the board for a first three-year term:
- Charles Kimball, Emerald PUD (Ore.)
- Tom Tankersley, McMinnville Water & Light (Ore.)
And reelected the following individuals to the board for a second three-year term:
- Gretchen Boardman, Big Flat Electric Cooperative (Mont.)
- Greg Cullen, Energy Northwest (associate member representative)
- Roger Kline, Northern Wasco County PUD (Ore.)
- Molly Simpson, Douglas County PUD (Wash.)
- Jeri Timm, Okanogan County PUD No. 1 (Wash.)
NWPPA is governed by a 41-member board of trustees comprised of member utility representatives and associate member representatives.
