Duties:

The Eugene Water & Electric Board is currently seeking a Utility Support Supervisor in our Water Operations department. The Utility Support Supervisor manages, directs, plans and organizes all activities of employees to assure reliable, safe, timely, and cost-effective flagging, traffic control, saw cutting, locating, tool room, equipment repair and resource delivery.  This position will manage work units, individual performance, and model leadership behaviors that promote open communication, teamwork and accountability.  The successful candidate will direct and monitor Utility Support functions and day-to day business activities.  The Utility Support Supervisor will manage and monitor budgets and provide full scope of supervision to include: coaching and development, performance evaluations, motivation, discipline and employee relations.

The Utility Support Supervisor plays a significant role in coordinating the activities of employees within the Water Operations department.  The successful candidate will have a strong background in successfully supervising and coaching a team including planning, implementing, coordinating and managing standard operating guidelines, design standards, and resources to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations.

Experience Required:

Minimum Experience:  Candidate must have eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in construction, construction management or utility field, including at least two years of direct supervisory experience.  The supervisory requirement may be satisfied on a two to one experiential exchange based on additional years of experience in a lead, project management or equivalent role.

Education:  
High School Diploma or GED, and a two-year associate’s degree or two years college level coursework in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be qualifying.

Desirable education, experience, training and Certifications: Utility industry experience is desirable.

Equivalency:  An equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be qualifying.

Valid driver license: Yes

Professional license or registration: Traffic control Supervisor Certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire.  Oregon Work Zone Traffic Control Trainer or ability to obtain within six months of hire.  Must obtain First Aid Card
