$5,215 - $6,519 Per Month

An Engineering Field Representative (EFR) is responsible for the design and staking of service extensions, minor system improvements and upgrades, and ordinary replacements.  The EFR works closely with customers, contractors, developers and other District personnel to ensure that District facilities are properly installed.

 

Additional Information:

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and have earned a high school diploma or G.E.D; an associate’s degree is preferred.  This position requires good computer skills, excellent customer service skills and an ability to portray a positive view of the District in sometimes confrontational situations.  Familiarity with construction standards and practices is preferred.  Must have the ability to read and understand various technical codes, regulations, and standards such as RUS, NESC, and NEC.  An ability to read maps and blueprints is essential. Experience in Microsoft Office in a business environment, including Excel, Word, and Outlook is preferred.  A demonstrated work ethic and team-work skills, professionalism, desire to provide a superior customer care experience, pleasant and efficient telephone and verbal communication style, basic math skills, and business writing abilities are required.  Attention to detail and ability to multi-task are essential to this position.

Work is performed equally in both office and field environments.  Work in the office environment is sedentary in nature, requiring the ability to communicate and enter and retrieve data on a computer. Work in the field environment may require bending, climbing, standing, twisting, and walking over uneven terrain with possible exposure to dust, pollen, aggressive animals, traffic, and fumes.  Field work may be performed in adverse weather conditions such as snow, rain, flooding, summer heat, etc.  Other hazards may be encountered such as brush, mud, obstacles, debris, holes, fences, and open trenches.  When in the field, a moderate amount of driving is required.  A valid Oregon driver’s license is required within 30 days.
