Technician III, Drafter (R16-396)

Provide drafting of subsystems and detailing of construction drawings to complement designers’ and action engineers’ work in Engineering.

You will support our journey by:

  • Ensure that the design and drafting concepts/details are accurately and clearly conveyed on drawings.
  • Perform walkdowns on systems to check “as-built” conditions; draft construction drawings; gather and organize engineering data from field investigations, engineering notes, drawings and vendor prints.
  • Independently develop “as-built” drawings from completed construction packages.
  • Perform preliminary design of subsystems and related equipment drawings.
  • Make complete design drawings from sketched information; basic design documents and layout information; identify conflicts requiring deviations from prescribed practices or criteria.
  • Provide technical drafting service to engineers, designers and drafters within the area of expertise of the incumbent.
  • Review completed construction drawings for accuracy and conformity to standards and regulations.
  • Meet project drafting objectives.
  • Interface drafting with other disciplines on same project. Provide time estimates for task completion.
  • Operate computer-aided drafting (CAD) equipment or other applicable tools to provide drafting service.
Experience Required:

You will bring the following skills to our team:

  • Thorough knowledge of company engineering standards and guidelines, industrial practices and basic theory of incumbent’s discipline.
  • Thoroughly familiar with drafting application skills and proficiency of current drafting tools and technologies.
  • Effective communication and human relation skills (for project coordination).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to think critically.
  • Ability to work without supervision and capability of self-checking for completeness and accuracy of work produced.
  • Four years of experience in engineering drafting plus technical school training or five-plus years of experience in engineering drafting.
  • Technical courses in design/drafting technology preferred with emphasis on basic industrial theory and industrial equipment design.
