Tacoma Water is seeking a collaborative and forward thinking Information Systems Management Analyst to join the Asset & Information Management Section at Tacoma Water.  As part of the Information Management (IM) team you will have the unique opportunity to work in a fast paced environment, with all levels of staff across the entire organization, on new and innovative work efforts that are intended to have a profound and lasting effect on how we do business at Tacoma Water.

A large part of this postion’s focus will entail supporting the entire Tacoma Water organization as we seek to enhance utilization of  SAP, GIS, Mobile Work Management and SharePoint  as our core technologies for  Information and Business Process Management.  The long term goal of which is to move towards integrated business processes to increase efficiencies.

Additionally, this position will work with both the AM team and operating sections on refining, developing and implementing tools to assist in the analysis and reporting; as well as policy and procedure implementation support.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop Work Management process functionality using SAP, GIS and Mobile Work Management system or other tools.
  • Serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the business.
    • Includes Systems Process Improvements, R&D, Planning, Scheduling & Implementation Coordination, Analytics and Reporting for SAP ERP and Mobile Work Management systems.
    • Coach and mentor operating sections on systems utilization that support work management processes; including applicable roles and responsibilities.
    • Work with internal and external resources to deliver defined work management system processes; including process documentation.
    • Serve on user group committees representing TW interests.
  • SAP ERP Business Operations Support – Business Operations support and technology liaison for Work Management and Plant Maintenance functionality.
    • Ensure proper utilization of the computerized maintenance management system
    • Development of Master Data standards, governance and implementation.
    • Work with cross-functional   teams to improve maintenance and work management processes for systems and mobility tools.
    • Translate business operation needs into technical requirements
    • Reporting and queries building support; including documentation
  • Mobile Workforce Management Business Operations Support.
    • Work with internal and external resources to deliver defined work management processes to all business units
    • Translate business operation needs into technical requirements
    • Serve on user group committee representing TW interests
  • Technology Maturity Model
    • Support framework development and implementation
    • Measure  TW  Technology  Utilization
    • Track  and report on progress  of TW level of  maturity
    • Provide technical business process engineering support

Experience Required:

Bachelor’s Degree typically required. Master’s Degree preferred. SAP ERP experience preferred. Typically requires 3-4 years of business process analysis/engineering, data management and reporting. Solid understanding of Project Management principles and planning. Strong Microsoft Excel and Access database skills.
