Puget Sound Energy’s System Operations Department is looking for a System Operator Trainees-Dispatch (SOT-D) to join our team. Employees in these positions dispatch servicemen and other operating personnel for emergencies, maintenance, inspection, customer construction and the operation of overhead and underground systems consistent with PSE practices and safety regulations.
SOT-D’s will coordinate with PSE personnel, Service Providers, State and Federal agencies, contractors, other utilities, customers and the public regarding outage restoration, emergency conditions and other routine daily activities.
Other responsibilities include conducting analysis and research utilizing Company computer systems (including the outage management system, asset and outage information databases, logging systems, customer information systems, and various mapping systems, etc.) with respect to outages, line and service construction and maintenance. SOT-D’s will be expected to perform similar and incidental duties as assigned.
SOT-D’s will participate and progress through Dispatch training requirements. Both formal and informal training will be offered to prepare SOT-D’s to competently perform the duties of the job. They will also participate in and conduct training as necessary for relief, new and back-up SOT-D’s.
This position is a pathway to becoming a System Operator/System Operator Trainee (SOT). Candidates accepting this position must be willing to progress to the SOT role when offered. It is expected that Employees selected into the SOT-D position shall progress through the requirements as determined by the System Operator Training Committee (SOTC).
