Substation Operations Supervisor (R16-132)


Supervise and manage essential functions of the Substation Operators, substation metal works shop, wireman helpers and oil spill response and other duties as assigned.  Provide support to SCC, Substation Operations Engineering, Construction and Maintenance Wireman crews, Regional Line Departments and Storerooms. This position maybe require overnight travel up to but not limited to 10% on an annual basis.   This position requires the successful applicant serve up to 3 months per annual on call duty which includes nights, weekends, and holidays this requires the applicant to not travel outside the service territory during these times.

Education: Typical candidate would have two or more years foreman level experience in a skilled trade(s) or formal education focused on business leadership or a technical degree may be substituted for foreman level trade experience.

Experience: Typical candidate would typically have five years experience leading teams(s) in a production environment where safety, training and professionalism are #1 priority. Experience in leading teams that operate or maintenance an electrical grid, produce industrial products and/or safety leadership is a plus.  Experience using electronic time collection, accounting reconciliation and process approval software is a plus.

Physical requirement: Ability to work long hours when required occasionally.  Must be able to stands for extended time, walk on uneven surfaces and occasionally lift/slid/move items weighing up to 45 pounds.
