Specialist IV, Utility Asset Management (R18-015)

UAM’s function is to ensure compliance with state public utility commission and applicable federal telecommunication regulations and tariffs with regards to safety and joint use attachments on PGE poles, supporting PGE’s pole inspection program (FITNES), wireless attachments on poles and outdoor lighting. This position serves as a technical expert on the business operations team and provides analytical and operational support of UAM technology, processes and efficiency, ensuring that all business is conducted effectively and within the guidelines of the Oregon Administrative Rules.  Represent UAM in system enhancement and defect discussions with IT and interface directly with external licensees for Joint Use system support.  Work in collaboration with others on customer inquiries and handle escalated issues as needed.

Experience Required:


  • Bachelor’s degree in business.
  • Five or more years of distribution, project management, or lead experience.
  • Strong Computer applications skills. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Acess, FieldView, Maximo and others.
  • Working technical knowledge including modeling techniques, business acumen, technical and business requirements writing, systems thinking concepts and principles.
  • Working knowledge of electric utility distribution operations.
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion skills involving problem solving, ability to work under pressure and meet critical deadlines.
  • Great teamwork and collaboration skills as well as excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and human relations skills.
  • Ability to manage time and work projects independently.
