Spec II/III SDC R17-342

In this position you will provide Street and Area Lighting design expertise resulting in cost effective, reliable and workable designs that meets customer needs consistent with tariff, company requirements and applicable codes.  Provide service consultation to customers and translate their needs to ultimate lighting service connections.

At the Specialist II candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
  • Typically 0-2 years of experience required. Experience with lighting design or electrical systems preferred.
  • Ability to apply moderately complex engineering and design concepts, PGE and industry standards, and governing codes.  Strong understanding of related engineering concepts and principles.
  • Working knowledge of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA) Standards and Recommended practices, National Electric Safety Code (NESC) and National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Ability to effectively plan, organizes, design, and coordinate multiple projects with changing timelines.
Experience Required:

At the Specialist III candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred. Typically 3-5 years of related experience required with lighting design or electrical systems.
  • Ability to apply moderately complex engineering and design concepts, PGE and industry standards, and governing codes.  Strong understanding of related engineering concepts and principles.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA) Standards and Recommended practices, National Electric Safety Code (NESC) and National Electrical Code (NEC).
