Specialist II/III, Materials R17-345 


This position coordinates the purchase/rental of major and minor equipment, tools, materials and services for capital projects and preventative/corrective substation maintenance from start to finish.  The coordinator works directly with PGE Supply Chain, Accounts Payable, and vendors to ensure that PGE receives the best possible price, purchase orders (PO’s) have the correct terms and conditions, and all purchases are received and receipted properly with accurate accounting.

Experience Required:


  • Education: Associate’s degree peferred (degree requirement may be met with a high school diploma or GED and two years of work experience such as described in the essential job responsibilities).
  • Communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Human relations skills, including the ability to negotiate and coordinate.
  • Basic knowledge of PGE or other utility Substation Operations procurement and warehousing policies and procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of Maximo and PeopleSoft software systems.
  • Utilization of Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Prior experience working with employees in a bargaining agreement.
