The Senior Project Coordinator is responsible for providing strategic focus, planning, and implementation support for utility-wide technology initiatives. This position will work with employees from all levels of the organization to define project objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle. Planning tasks will include documentation and communication of project plans, incorporating aspects such as resources, timelines, and scope to ensure successful implementation. Applicants should be comfortable working in a small organization with a culture of limited hierarchy and greater autonomy.
Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or other closely related field or an equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the required knowledge and skills. Minimum 5 years of experience managing technology projects and supporting business system implementations. Strong general purpose technical experience, understanding, and skills across a variety of areas, including system and network administration, programming, database management, and reporting. Must possess advanced knowledge of principles, methods, and tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, and managing projects and resources. Experience identifying and analyzing functional business requirements, and translating these into technical requirements for technology solutions. Must possess knowledge of current and emerging trends in information management and technology and its potential application. Must have demonstrated ability to lead a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality, customer focused outcomes.Strong oral and written communication skills, including a demonstrated history of providing management reports, leading presentations to large groups, and negotiating with internal and external stakeholders.Ability to work individually and in a team environment, and have the ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and manage change effectively. Must be comfortable working in a small organization with a culture of limited hierarchy and greater autonomy. Must be self-directed at times and able to proactively work with others to solve problems. Project Management Professional(PMP)or equivalent is preferred.Experience working within the utility industry is strongly preferred.
