The SENIOR ENERGY ANALYST is responsible for long and short-term planning, scheduling and dispatching power generation and water spill for the District’s Lake Chelan hydro reservoir storage project. Performs hydro power resource modeling, forecasting, and develops short-term/long-term revenue projections for Chelan PUD’s three hydro projects.
Monitors or assesses hydro generation risks and evaluates strategies to optimize the value of Chelan PUD’s generating resources. Provides snow survey program data to evaluate and forecast Chelan basin runoff and lake levels (senior level incumbent will manage the snow survey program). Perform analysis of data and apply mathematical and statistical methods, and provides assistance in the development of reporting and analysis to management, and asset optimization.
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (B. S., B. A.) from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (May/June 2017 graduates will be considered.)
Typically requires three (3) – seven (7) years’ experience performing economic analysis, and application of statistics, finance, mathematics, and problem solving. Senior level applicants’ experience will include analyzing and modeling energy usage and analyzing project cost benefit. They are also preferred to have experience managing projects.
