TESCO – The Eastern Specialty Company is seeking a Regional Manager, for the Rocky Mountain territory, focusing on direct sales to Electric Utility Metering Departments. TESCO provides electric metering test equipment for the field, meter shop and meter labs, along with metering software, services and engineering support for electric utilities. As part of the TESCO sales team you will be responsible for all territory sales and support for the TESCO product line. This position is a great opportunity for a candidate with electric metering experience and/or territory management experience who is looking to grow their career with a proven industry leader. Position Objectives As a Regional Manager you will be responsible for all business and customer relationship development activities specifically as they relate to increasing sales in the specified territory and expanding the TESCO customer base in this region through relationship selling. The candidate must live within the respective sales territory to ensure the most efficient use of his or her time. Additional responsibilities of the role include: Providing product demonstrations, technical training to new and current customers and occasionally help with technical troubleshooting on an as needed basis. Providing customer quotations. Producing, generating and providing presentations to accounts and at regional meetings including conducting industry training sessions at meter schools. Assisting with the planning and organization of regional customer. relations events, participating in tradeshows, conferences and meter schools. Performing business development and retention within the territory, product demand assessment, prospecting, and qualifying leads. Reviewing and recording of territory account activity and communication with the National Sales Manager. Working closely with other team members to maintain competitive marketing and pricing strategies. Capturing and tracking customer inquiries related to key products for new product line development. The compensation structure for this position is a base salary plus a commission plan and monthly travel stipend.
Skills and Qualifications Successful candidates of the Regional Manager position have either a proven track record of success in business development, sales, and product marketing in the electric utility metering space or solid experience and knowledge of electric metering within the electric utility industry. Someone with the ability to work independently with minimal direct daily supervision will excel in this role! Additional requirements of the Regional Manager include: Experience in electric metering preferred. Sales management experience, preferred but not required for a candidate with solid electric utility metering experience. Proficient with computer skills and Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Ability to travel – 85% to 95% within the territory.
