Ravalli County Electric Cooperative (REC) is a member-owned distribution co-op headquartered in the heart of the Bitterroot Valley in scenic Victor, Montana. We are seeking a full-time Line Superintendent to join our team. This role, under the general direction of the COO, is crucial in overseeing electrical operations teams, ensuring reliable and safe power delivery through effective planning, maintenance, and leadership.

Responsible For:

  • Ensuring REC continues to provide value to our members and a safe and respectful workplace.
  • Must be able to supervise underground or overhead line crews and promote adherence to all safety rules, regulations, and practices.
  • Manage, coordinate, and schedule electric operations employees, ensuring maximum continuity and efficiency.
  • Responding to member questions and concerns.
  • Maintain effective communication with all REC departments.
  • Develop and maintain a right-of-way program.
  • Must live within 30 minutes of REC headquarters.

Desired Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience as a Journeyman or Foreman.
  • Must have excellent computer and communication skills.
  • Valid Montana Class A CDL and must be insurable.
  • Five (5) years of experience in a supervisory position is preferred.
  • Experience with developing and administering budgets is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to sit at a desk for 8-10 hours daily using a computer, telephone, etc.
  • Able to walk and stand for up to 10 hours a day over all terrain and in all weather conditions; must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to operate a snowmobile, all-terrain vehicles, and manual transmission truck.
  • Must be able to drive a vehicle for up to 10 hours a day on occasional trips.
