PUD #1 of Wahkiakum County is a publicly owned electric and water utility located in Cathlamet, Washington, along the Columbia River.  The PUD’s mission is to provide the most reliable electric and water service at the most reasonable cost along with quality customer service to the District’s ratepayers.  The PUD is currently seeking applicants to fill its General Manager position who will continue to lead the District in fulfilling its mission.

The General Manager is responsible for the overall management of the PUD in accordance with RCW 54.16.100. The General Manager provides leadership, develops and implements strategic plans, and ensures the District conducts its business in accordance with established values, sound financial management practices, policies, and objectives established by the Board of Commissioners.

The position requires a minimum of five years experience in progressively responsible, successful management experience, preferably specific to electric utilities, which includes supervisory experience, labor relations, acquisition of power, financial management, and strategic planning. A Bachelor of Science degree of electrical engineering, accounting, business administration, public administration, or proven work performance and experience, plus certain required knowledge, skills and abilities are required to carry out the duties of General Manager.
