Duties:

EWEB is seeking a Portfolio Management Supervisor to direct and lead all aspects of EWEB’s resource planning, mid-term trading, and product & service pricing activities. This includes integrated electric resource planning, developing and maintaining planning and forecasting models, acquiring and/or selling long-term supply-side resources, optimizing the long-term power supply portfolio, influencing regional and regulatory matters to protect or enhance portfolio value, leading large retail and wholesale contract negotiations, and contract administration. The successful candidate serves as Power Contracts Portfolio Administrator for PPAs, including development and implementation of power contracts and associated compliance systems and is responsible for overseeing development and accuracy of statistical forecasting models, including but not limited to: customer demand, market price, hydro generation supply, and retail revenue forecasting.  The position is responsible for EWEB’s power portfolio hedging strategy and execution and manages the development, budgeting, staffing and delivery of internal and external information reporting.

The Portfolio Management Supervisor has responsibility for EWEB’s contracts and relationship with the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA), including responsibility for complying with BPA contractual requirements and reviewing/influencing BPA costs in regional policy discussions.  The position interfaces with Bonneville Power Administration and other regional, state, or national planning, legislative and regulatory agencies to represent EWEB’s interests in energy policy decisions.  This successful candidate is responsible for directing efforts of highly skilled staff and providing clear work unit goals, performance standards, work procedures, safe work practices, and for ensuring internal as well as external regulatory compliance.  This position reports to the Chief Customer Office and participates as a member of the Customer and Community Relations Department Management team to identify, establish and implement department and corporate business objectives.

Experience Required:

Minimum Experience:  Eight years of experience in the following: power operations, power trading, resource planning, risk management, statistics, strategic planning, regional policy, rate design, contract management & negotiations, DSM program evaluation, budgeting and reporting, project management, load forecasting or load research including at least two year of supervisory experience; Supervisory experience must include selecting, evaluating, motivating, coaching and disciplining employees  Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, statistics, economics, accounting, mathematics, science, engineering or related field.

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics or other related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may qualify.

Desirable education, experience, training and certifications:  Master’s degree preferred.

Equivalency:  An equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be qualifying.
