Multiple Levels Power Dispatcher Balancing Area Operator – Transmission System Operator #69750 Puget Sound Energy’s Load Office is looking for a Senior Power Dispatcher to join our team! This position will be filled as a Senior Power Dispatcher or Power Dispatcher depending upon the qualifications of the candidate. This person will operate PSE’s Transmission, Generation, AGC, and System Reliability functions in a safe, efficient, and reliable manner. They will have authority to take independent actions as deemed necessary and as specified in NERC and WECC standards to fulfill responsibilities. They will also analyze information, coordinate and direct actions, and control multiple operating systems under normal and emergency conditions. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to clearly communicate both orally and in writing. This position requires working rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays, and is available for emergency call-outs. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Operator certification per NERC Standards. • Extensive knowledge of interconnected transmission systems and generation characteristics. • Proficiency in operating control center systems: SCADA, AGC, OASIS, E-Tag, WECCNet, accounting systems. • Expert in lock-out tag-out principles, State and PSE safety rules and Standards, and safe operating practices. • Ability to climb a 15-foot ladder. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Successful experience in operating PSE’s transmission, generation, AGC, and reliability functions. • Previous Power Dispatch experience • Transmission or energy scheduling experience • System Operation, Generation, Substation, or Transmission experience • Experience working rotating shifts • BA/BS degree in Engineering PSE is an equal opportunity employer.
