The Modesto Irrigation District is currently recruiting to fill one full-time vacancy in the Human Resources Division to plan, organize, review, participate in, and supervise the work of assigned personnel, engaged in the District’s human resources activities. Areas of assigned responsibility may include but are not limited to: classification and compensation, recruitment and selection, employee development, labor and employee relations, pension administration, employee benefits, workers’ compensation, leave administration, and interactive process for disability accommodations; to perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility; to provide advice to District departments on a wide variety of human resources topics; and to provide administrative support to the Human Resources Manager.
This is the advanced journey level in the Human Resources Analyst series. Positions at this level are distinguished from other classes within the series by the level of responsibility assumed, complexity of duties assigned, independence of action taken, by the amount of time spent performing the duties, and by the nature, scope and impact of the public contact made. Employees perform the most difficult and responsible types of duties assigned to classes within this series, including providing direct supervision over assigned personnel and perform complex professional analytical work in support of internal and external customers. Employees at this level are required to be fully trained in all procedures related to assigned areas of responsibility.
Supervision Received and Exercised:
Receives general direction from the Human Resources Manager. Exercises direct supervision over assigned professional and technical personnel.

Experience and Training:
Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be:
Five years of increasingly responsible professional-level experience performing analytical human resources activities appropriate to the level of this position, preferably within a public agency of comparable complexity; including one year directly supervising assigned personnel.
Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college with major course work in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
