Manager 1, Contracts, Tariff Management & Policy


Plan, manage, on a day-to-day basis, for the business units (Merchant & Transmission) contract administration activities (i.e., BPA, CAISO etc.).Manage preparation and filing of PGE’s FERC related tariffs, in addition to the regulatory and policy requirements for participation in the Energy Imbalance and Day Ahead Markets. Development of PGE’s policies, participation in industry stakeholder processes, and the administration of PGE’s open access power and gas transportation tariffs. Represent PGE’s interests on regional energy related committees.
This position will be responsible for managing the development and implementation of the required contractual arrangements and regulatory filings. Representation of PGE’s interests in regional meetings, assessing best practices used by similarly situated entities, meeting with regulators, and managing relationships with partners. This position will also be responsible for ensuring that PGE meets compliance with the PGE Open Access Transmission Tariff administration and associated business practices, in addition to all applicable FERC, NERC, WECC, Peak Reliability, and NAESB requirements

Experience Required:


Bachelor degree in Business Administration or Engineering, with some legal or regulatory background preferred.
5-10 years of utility experience with at least 3-5 years in management of power or transmission related areas,
Knowledge and experience in contract development, negotiation and administration.
Knowledge and understanding of utility related public policy and legal issues.
Highly motivated individual with strong leadership, negotiating and management skills.
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Excellent presentation skills and the ability to communicate with utility executives, senior federal and state regulators, peers, and staff. Ability to be an effective advocate for the Company when working in regional groups.
Knowledge and understanding of the OATT.
Demonstrated ability to develop other leaders.
