High school diploma, GED, or District approved equivalent is required. This position requires completion of sanctioned Lineman Apprenticeship program, including the use of live line tools. Preference may also be given to those with an Associate’s Degree or some kind of higher education.
Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and Class ‘A’ Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with air brake endorsement and able to drive safely in all road conditions and terrain. Driving record must be acceptable and insurable by District’s insurance carrier by standard group rates. An annual review of one’s driving record is required.
This position is required to pass District physical examination.
Must demonstrate job proficiency on an annual basis as required by OSHA CFR 1910.269.
Must possess and maintain current approved first aid and CPR certifications. Must possess Oregon State Flagger’s Certification.
Able to report to work within 30 minutes is required and have access to an operating telephone at residence to ensure accessibility for after-hours call-out.

Must have developed English language skills to be able to read and write emails, complete timesheets, work orders, safety tailboards, and understand process/procedural manuals. However, additional language skills are preferred.
Ability to work harmoniously, deal effectively, maintain professionalism, keep a cooperative attitude and open communication with customers, contractors and all District staff members. Demonstrates on the job a positive, courteous, and professional attitude toward all internal and external customers.
Remain current in accepted industry practices, procedures, and safety aspects of electric utilities, including high voltage work. Knowledgeable of proper application of the tools and equipment of the trade.
Ability of read and interpret electrical schematics, specifications, manuals and complex diagrams and plans.
Trained and knowledgeable in the fundamentals of electricity required in line construction and maintenance.
