Kodiak Electric Association (KEA) is seeking to fill the position of Journeyman Lineman.  KEA is a progressive and innovative stand-alone generation, transmission and distribution electric cooperative located on spectacular Kodiak Island in the gulf of Alaska, 252 air miles southwest of Anchorage, serving approximately 6,000 meters with 348 miles of distribution line.  The cooperative is recognized as an industry leader in implementing sustainable, renewable energy solutions with environmental stewardship, and in 2016, our renewable portfolio of hydro and wind generated 99.7% of our power.

Kodiak Island has spectacular pristine scenic beauty, is a sportsman’s paradise, and offers numerous fishing, hunting, and recreational activities.  This is the land of wild Sockeye Salmon, Silver Salmon, King Salmon, and the great Kodiak Brown Bear.  Approximately two-thirds of the island is National Wildlife Refuge.  The Port of Kodiak is consistently ranked as one of the top three fishing ports in the U.S.  Alaska’s Emerald Island has a mild, ever-changing maritime climate.

Alaska does not have a state income tax.  In October of 2016, every eligible resident received a dividend of $1,022, their share of the money from the sale of oil pumped out of the ground in Alaska.

KEA offers an excellent salary and comprehensive combined NRECA and IBEW benefits packages.  This position is open until filled.
