The Eugene Water & Electric Board is currently seeking a skilled Financial Internal Auditor. The Internal Auditor will be responsible for planning, conducting and reporting on audits/reviews that assess the effectiveness and efficiencies of operations, internal controls, compliance with applicable laws and regulations, accuracy and completeness of financial data. The successful candidate will participate in analysis, development and implementation of policies, procedures and internal controls. Primary duties also include reviewing processes that impact financial reporting to ensure adequacy of controls and accuracy of account balances/reports, testing financial transactions to ensure accurate recording, and supporting external financial auditors. This position directly reports to Financial Services – Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and will be responsible for detecting inadequate, inefficient or ineffective internal controls and processes and recommend improvements along with supporting ERM efforts to identify, analyze and mitigate risks.
Minimum Experience: Three years of auditing experience, either as an independent or internal auditor.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may qualify.
Desirable education, experience, training and certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Financial Services Auditor (CFSA), Certified Government Auditing Professional (CGAP), or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) preferred.
Valid driver license: Yes, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
