PURPOSE OF POSITION

The purpose of the software developer is to design, develop, and maintain software applications or systems by writing clean, efficient code that meets Inland’s requirements. The software developer will collaborate closely with team members and managers to solve complex problems and create solutions that are tested for functionality and reliability. The software developer will stay current with technological advancements and best practices to deliver high-quality software that aligns with organizational goals with a focus on innovation, member satisfaction, and the seamless integration of new technologies to enhance software performance and user experience.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Work as part of a small development team.
  2. Design web APIs using C#, .NET Core, and Azure.
  3. Integrate with applications including Power BI, Power Apps, Excel, and a variety of web based front ends.
  4. Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
  5. Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software.
  6. Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, testing, and deployment.
  7. Provide ongoing technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting application issues and resolving user queries.
  8. Stay up to date with emerging technologies, application updates, and industry best practices to recommend improvements and innovations.
  9. Participate in user acceptance testing and resolve issues to ensure applications meet functional requirements.
  10. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate applications with existing systems and databases.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education/Experience:

  1. 2+ years of relevant software development experience.
  2. Minimum of 1 years’ experience in C#.
  3. Formal training in software development, to include college or a structured boot camp.

Preferred Skills:

  1. Utility knowledge and NISC software experience.
  2. Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
  3. Knowledge of Azure web applications and APIs.
  4. Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  5. Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
  6. Experience with common front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JS, TypeScript, and Node.

Mental Demands/Working Conditions:

  1. Requires frequent sitting and use of personal computer keyboard.  Some lifting, carrying, twisting, reaching, crawling, squatting, and bending when working on installation and repair of computers or related equipment. Maximum weight to lift is approximately 50 pounds.  Requires good finger dexterity and ability to perform close work.
  2. Ability to meet time deadlines and effectively multi-task.

The software developer shall have full authority to carry out these duties and responsibilities in conformity with established policies and procedures and shall utilize time in such a way as to fulfill the objectives of this position and the cooperative.
