HR Strategy Consultant (R15-560)

Strategically consult with Management within assigned area in the implementation, administration, and coordination of all Human Resources programs, guidelines and policies to assist with effective use of people and achieve short- and long-term objectives of the Company.

Support our journey by:

  • Contribute to the Company’s employee relations and overall morale while balancing employee and Company needs using a consistent employment law and Company policy framework.
  • Contribute to ensuring that union contract provisions are effectively administered and are in compliance with laws and regulations in assigned areas; assist area management to conform to all federal and state employment-related regulations and laws and in resolving alleged discrimination charges.
  • Ensuring that assigned area’s training and development needs are met and that they are congruent with corporate goals and objectives. Assist with career planning.
  • Ensuring consistent application of established policies, guidelines, and procedures when assisting managers and supervisors in making compensation, benefit and performance management decisions. Ensure HR consulting services are coordinated within assigned areas and support business plans.
  • Ensuring compliance with all federal and state EEO laws and affirmative action efforts.
  • Ensuring successful departmental reorganizations and rightsizing efforts consistent with corporate goals.
  • Lead major project/program development. Contribute to ensuring consistent application of all Human Resources programs, policies and procedures.

 

Experience Required:

Bring the following skills to the team:

  • Thorough knowledge of Human Resources functions, technologies, and systems such as employee relations, labor relations, staffing, compensation, benefits and management involvement.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of laws and regulations relating to Human Resources (e.g., EEO, AAP, ADA, FMLA, collective bargaining, etc.).
  • Demonstrated competency in at least five areas of Human Resources (e.g., employee relations, labor relations, employee training, employee development, cash compensation, benefits, safety, performance management, EEO, manpower planning, information analysis, and organization design).
  • Thorough knowledge of organizational and Human Resources principles in order to deal with diverse organizational issues.
  • Thorough situational consultative/facilitative, problem-solving, group presentation and group process skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and conflict resolution skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Experience in labor relations is required.

Typically, a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related area and 10 years of applicable experience, to include three years as a human resources specialist, and two years as a human resources consultant or degree plus 8 years of responsible and applicable experience.
