Homer Electric Association is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Director of Operations.  We are a member owned cooperative providing service to the residents of the lower Alaskan Kenai Peninsula including several remote locations on the south side of Kachemak Bay.  The successful candidate will work out of our office in Kenai, Alaska, providing direction to the operations department of the cooperative at both ends of our system and coordinating closely with the distribution engineering department to ensure the timely construction and maintenance of all distribution and transmission system assets.

 

Additional Information:

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in an industry related field, ten years of progressively responsible experience in rural electric utility Operations management, five years of supervisory experience, and substantial experience working with bargaining units.  An additional eight years of related experience may replace the degree requirement.  Applicants must demonstrate a results oriented management ability, possess a positive approach to dealing with utility personnel and the public, and possess a technical knowledge of electrical utility system operations, maintenance, and safety practices.
