The Board of Directors of Hood River Electric Cooperative (HREC) is seeking qualified candidates to replace the General Manager who will retire mid-year 2018. HREC has contracted with NRECA’s Executive Search to facilitate the search process.
Hood River Electric Cooperative is a member-owned cooperative serving portions of Northern Oregon. The Cooperative has 15 employees serving approximately 3,820 meters over 265 miles of distribution line and annual revenue of more than $9.0M. HREC receives its wholesale power from the Bonneville Power Administration and is a member of the Oregon Rural Electric Cooperative Association (ORECA). The cooperative also has a broadband internet subsidiary, Communications Access Cooperative (CACHE); a provider of enhanced internet and connectivity services to the community.
Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years electric utility experience, preferably within the rural electric program, and at least 5 years senior management experience. A bachelor’s degree in business administration, electrical engineering, accounting and finance, or related degree is required. However, extensive electric utility experience in a senior staff position may substitute for a college degree. Candidates must have broad electric utility management experience that includes such areas as safety, finance, strategic planning, team building, and member communications. The successful candidate will be one of integrity and have excellent people and communications skills, proven leadership ability and a strong commitment to the “Cooperative Principles”. Additional experience with an internet service provider would be an asset for potential candidates.
How to Apply:
