Valley Electric Association, Inc. is a member-owned electric cooperative with 200+ employees headquartered in Pahrump, Nevada. VEA provides service to more than 45,000 people within a vast 6,800-square-mile service area located primarily along the California-Nevada border, with the majority in Nevada. Residential members are the co-op’s largest single consumer group. VEA serves high-profile federal government facilities in Nevada, including the Nevada National Security Site and Creech Air Force Base. Candidate must pass government security clearance requirements. Pahrump Nevada is located in the southeast corner of Nye County, 60 miles west of Las Vegas and just a few short hours from southern California which includes Disneyland and SeaWorld. Pahrump has a population of 35,000. Activities include golfing, wine tasting, racing sports, hunting, fishing, skiing and numerous outdoor activities.
