The Eugene Water & Electric Board is seeking a Financial Analyst to support the coordination, development and implementation of the corporate wide budget and support the power risk management functions.  The selected candidate will also support the analysis of utility retail/wholesale revenue, and expenditure data in support of budget/rate decisions and provide on-going monitoring of department budgets. Additionally, this position will support the credit, compliance, and forecasting related to our power trading portfolio.

Success in this position will require the ability to prioritize ongoing business activities, while addressing urgent needs and maintaining timely deliverables; effectively exercising independent judgment while appropriately managing company risks for customer owners; and the ability to work across departments on interdisciplinary teams.

The starting annual salary for this position is commensurate with knowledge, skills, education, and experience as it relates to the position. The hiring ranges for the positions are as follows:

·         Financial Analyst I: $61,613 – $74,232 annually

·         Financial Analyst II: $73,468 – $91,835 annually

This position is based in Eugene, Oregon; however, it has been approved and is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement involving a combination of telecommuting and working on-site in-office based on agreement between the hiring manager and the successful candidate. EWEB is committed to the safety of the workforce, therefore on-site visits in-office work may be reduced based on CDC/OHA guidelines due to COVID-19.

Minimum Training and Experience Required:

Financial Analyst I: Two years of experience in the assigned area of responsibility to include (budget development and budget monitoring, demand forecasting, power risk management, contract management or operations, and financial modelling)

Financial Analyst II: Four years of experience in the assigned area of responsibility to include (budget development and budget monitoring, demand forecasting, power risk management, contract management or operations, and financial modelling)

Education: Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, economics or related field.

Desirable education and experience: Master's Degree or CPA preferred. Experience in the utility industry helpful.

Equivalency: An equivalent combination of experience and education may be qualifying.

Valid driver license:  Yes or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of being hired.
