Duties:

The Eugene Water & Electric Board seeks an Engineering Technician to provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers, and perform technical assignments requiring experience, knowledge and judgment in the application of engineering fundamentals and standards as they apply to the design, construction, inspection and maintenance of electric utility systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for specific job assignments and process all types of electric utility service requests for construction, including preparation of design, material needs, records, contracts, estimates, permits and notices. Inspection of improvements during construction will also be an integral part of the position.

EWEB intends to fill one opening, but is posting at the Engineering Technician I, II and III levels. Preference will be given to candidates at the III and II level, but may fill at the Technician I level. Hiring Ranges:

Engineering Technician I:   $50,008.68 – 60,251.43
Engineering Technician II:  $57,927.44 – 69,792.10
Engineering Technician III: $67,051.23 – 80,784.61

Experience Required:

Engineering Technician I: 
Experience: Two years experience in drafting, surveying, construction management, utility operations, or a related field; OR
Education:  Associate’s degree with major coursework in applied science, engineering, surveying, construction management, or a related field.

Engineering Technician II: 
Experience: Two years experience as an Engineering Technician I or four years experience in drafting, surveying, construction management, utility operations, or a related field.
Education:  Associate’s degree with major coursework in applied science, engineering, surveying, construction management, or a related field.

Engineering Technician III: 
Experience: Four years experience as an Engineering Technician II or six years applicable and equivalent experience in drafting, surveying, construction management, utility operations, or a related field.
Education:  Associate’s degree with major coursework in applied science, engineering, surveying, construction management, or a related field.

All Levels:
Desirable education, experience, training and certifications: Staking Technician Certification

Equivalency: An equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be qualifying.
