Engineer I/II – Distribution Planning

POSITION PURPOSE

Perform engineering studies and analyses on PGE’s Distribution System.  Prepare engineering solutions to mitigate system risk and optimize system investment.  Document study results, make recommendations, and foster project scoping/estimating processes when preparing capital project funding requests.  This position requires the ability to use distribution software applications.

Experience Required:

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Position requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.

Desire successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.

Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.

Effective oral and written communication skills.

Basic knowledge of engineering/economic principles and concepts.

Basic knowledge of T&D protection schemes and automation solutions.

Basic knowledge of the utility business.

Basic knowledge of applicable policies, rules, regulations, and codes in the utility engineering field.

Familiarity with utility design standards and work practices.

Ability to use powerflow software applications (e.g. CYME).

Must have a valid Oregon driver’s license or the ability to obtain a license.
