MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR COMMUNITY AT PUGET SOUND ENERGY!
Energy Management Engineer (all levels) #58922
The greenest form of energy is energy that isn’t used in the first place. Our energy efficiency programs enable customers to reduce electricity or natural gas consumption at their facilities. Puget Sound Energy (PSE) needs engineers to partner with our customers to find upgrades that save energy! You will be assessing a wide-variety of technologies, systems, and equipment in commercial, industrial and/or institutional facilities that can leverage our incentive program to help pay for these upgrades.
PSE’s Business Energy Management Department is looking for Energy Management Engineers to join our team. Positions could be filled as a Senior Energy Management Engineer, Energy Management Engineer, or an Associate Energy Management Engineer, depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
Our customer energy efficiency projects include the following activities: meet with customers’ on-site to market and explain our programs, validate customer eligibility, understand and evaluate current facility system operations, provide on-site technical support, craft energy savings analysis, verify and document new efficiency upgrades, and initiate the incentive payment to the customer.
As you work closely with our customers and their contractors to develop projects, you will perform tasks that can include but are not limited to:
- Site and system evaluations (Energy Audits)
- Electric and Gas meter data analysis
- Sub-metering / Trend Logging
As programs shift to meet market needs, our engineering staff also performs technical review of new technologies and tools, business cases for new program offerings, and management of the programs themselves.
The ideal candidate for the higher level roles will possess problem solving skills to discover areas of energy saving opportunities in commercial and industrial HVAC systems. In addition, they will be able to clearly communicate both externally with customers and contractors, and also within PSE. They will also be a self-starter which enables strong growth in a potentially new area of expertise.
