Duties:

Electrical Engineering Manager – Modesto Irrigation District (MID) is seeking candidates for Electrical Engineering Manager within the Electrical Engineering Department of their Transmission and Distribution Division. The Electrical Engineering Manager (EEM) will report to the Assistant General Manager, Transmission and Distribution, and be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the Electrical Engineering Activities including: the design, modification, construction and project management of electrical engineering projects related to the District’s transmission and distribution system. He/she will manage a staff of eleven to thirteen including: Senior Electrical Engineers, Engineering Technician Supervisor, Electrical Engineering Associates and Engineering Technician’s. The Electrical Engineering Manager directs the development of the Electrical Engineering work plans: assigns and evaluates work activities, projects and programs. He/she will make recommendations regarding the hiring and appointment of personnel: provides and/or coordinates staff training, and conducts performance evaluations. The EEM will prepare the Electrical Engineering budget; assist in budget development, implementation, oversight, and performs other duties and responsibilities as directed.

Experience Required:

The minimum qualifications for this position are any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be: Seven years of increasingly responsible experience in the project management of electrical engineering projects; including two years of supervisory responsibility. The equivalent of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Electrical Engineering or a related field, and the possession of a valid driver’s license at the time of appointment. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a disability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Possession of a valid certificate as a registered Professional Electrical Engineer.
