Electrical Engineer – Substation Operations (R16-395)
Perform the functions of a substation electrical engineer by providing sound engineering solutions to complex problems. Develop and oversee designs for new substations and retrofit of existing facilities. Provide technical support to construction crews on department designs.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide quality assurance reviews of: o Electrical physical designs
o Electrical control designs
o Substation automation and SCADA designs
o Equipment specifications
- Develop electrical physical designs for substations which include: o Substation electrical arrangements, plans, and sections.
o High voltage bus designs and analysis.
o Grounding plans and analysis.
o Conduit and raceway plans.
o Substation yard lighting.
- Develop electrical control designs for substations which include: o AC and DC control schematic diagrams.
o Equipment and control panel wiring diagrams.
o Control house and control panel design and layouts.
o Lighting controls.
- Develop substation automation and SCADA designs which include: o RTU/PLC control schematics and wiring.
o Substation communications network layouts and block diagrams.
o Conceptual SCADA designs for new and existing facilities.
