Benton PUD is seeking an Electrical Engineer I, II or Senior with strong competency in the fundamentals of power system engineering coupled with experience and/or a desire to apply state-of-the-art electric utility technologies.  We are deploying a number of exciting technologies and systems.  Our engineers work to support many of the traditional elements of the electric utility business including 115-kV transmission lines, high-voltage substations and distribution systems while also having the opportunity to apply advanced technologies.  The work is diverse and challenging but our company is small and personal. Experience Required:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/LICENSING OR CERTIFICATIONS:

Electrical Engineer I:

  • BA/BS in Electrical Engineering; prefer emphasis in Power
  • 0–2 years electrical engineering experience; prefer candidate with some internship or other utility experience in addition to degree
  • Prefer Washington State Engineer in Training (EIT)
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license

Electrical Engineer II:

  • BA/BS in Electrical Engineering; prefer emphasis in Power
  • 3 to 4 years experience in the electric utility engineering
  • Prefer Washington State Engineer in Training (EIT)
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license

Senior Engineer I:

  • BA/BS in Electrical Engineering; prefer emphasis in Power
  • 5–7 years experience in the electric utility engineering, including 2 years overseeing major projects and studies
  • Current Washington State Professional Electrical Engineering license, power option. Other State PE in power will substitute but must obtain WA PE within 6 months of hire.
