EWEB is seeking to hire an experienced and self-motivated Journey-level Electric Meter Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, testing, installing, maintaining and calibrating all single-phase and poly-phase electric watt hour, demand and recording meters.
Daily work involves trouble-shooting voltage complaints, wiring meter installations, making repairs due to vandalism, identifying or confirming issues related to power diversion, addressing high bill complaints and related customer metering concerns and site verifications of CT meter installations. The individual will maintain and repair automated metering infrastructure (AMI) communications and metering equipment. The individual will also serve as a revenue metering expert for the utility and will serve as a mentor for Meter Technician Apprentices.
Candidates must have strong self-managing skills for prioritizing their work load in order to meet scheduling deadlines and have the ability to communicate technical aspects of metering to customers, while representing EWEB in a professional manner and promoting a healthy attitude for customer service. Preferred candidates will have the ability to demonstrate strong work ethics focused on promoting safe working practices at all times, especially when mentoring apprentices in the field and in the shop.

Requirements As A Qualification & Progression
Experience: Six thousand hours of on the job experience including hands on work as an Apprentice Electric Meter Technician.
Education: Successful completion of a 6000-hour EWEB approved JATC Electric Meter Technician Apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience. AMI installation experience, and continuing education is preferred.
Desirable education, experience, training and certifications: Oregon journey level electrical license.
