Annualized salary of $95,000 - $125,000 D.O.E.

Douglas County PUD is hiring a Project Civil Engineer to manage and direct the District’s Dam Safety program.  The primary function of this position is to ensure the structural integrity and operational safety of the Wells Hydroelectric Project.  This position will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, consultants, and federal regulators toward ensuring that the Wells Hydroelectric Project continues to operate in a safe and reliable manner for the foreseeable future.  This position will work with and coordinate the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) appointed Board of Consulting Engineers who have been tasked with evaluating, and designing dam safety related enhancements to the east and west embankments at Wells Dam.

The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, the ability to work collaboratively with teams, working knowledge of FERC license requirements and filing protocol, excellent technical writing, report writing, and verbal communication skills, and excellent problem solving and time management. We are looking for someone with a Civil Engineering degree and a PE and at least five years of progressively responsible experience in a closely related field.

Positioned on the Columbia River between Chief Joseph Dam and Rocky Reach Dam, The Wells Project is surrounded by an abundance of outdoor recreational opportunities on the “sunny side” of Washington state. Wells Dam employees make their home in the surrounding communities of Pateros, Waterville or Lake Chelan and many live in Wenatchee and East Wenatchee, an easy hour drive along the beautiful Columbia River.
