|This position is responsible for the engineering duties required in the preparation of work orders, service orders, service requests, easements and agreements associated with line extensions and system improvements; ordering of inventory required for the electrical system; maintenance of the mapping system; application of Cooperative policies, standards, state and national electric codes; and other duties as required. Duties and Responsibilities Serves as the member contact for electrical system issues. Develops and maintains positive contacts with the members, agencies, vendors, contractors, other utilities and the public. Designs electrical systems and facilities: prepares cost estimates and material lists, service requests, service orders, work orders and drawings for member line extensions, distribution feeders and improvements, services and other facilities as required. Performs field staking and layout for construction of electrical facilities, field inspections to determine adherence to standards and “as built” records. Responsible for field surveying as required to prepare easement descriptions. Prepares service agreements, contracts and easements. Performs title research. Must have a thorough knowledge of Cooperative policies and standards and the ability to convey such to the members. Maintains the Cooperative GIS mapping system. Collects, validates and processes GPS data points using a GPS unit and integrate points into the mapping system. Orders electrical inventory, tools and supplies as required. Arrange for repairs and maintenance of electrical equipment and tools.
|High school diploma or equivalent certificate, a two year engineering degree, GIS or similar field degree preferred. ArcGIS or AutoCAD background. FE/EIT license preferred. Basic working knowledge of electrical theory, staking and surveying. Ability to use a computer, computer aided drafting and mapping software and other office machines. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and other Office Suite applications. Must be proficient in algebraic and trigonometric mathematics. Must maintain a knowledge of job related policies, NEC, NESC, safety standards, electrical materials, and RUS construction standards Must be able to work professionally and positively with members, staff, vendors, contractors, other agencies and the general public. Have the ability to communicate policy, codes, standards and other requirements in a clear and concise manner. Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather and in rough terrain while carrying staking equipment. Detail and accuracy are very important in this job. Must possess a valid Washington State driver’s license. Works indoors and outdoors; sits for extended periods; moves cross country over rough terrain in all weather conditions; ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing; operate a motor vehicle; operate office equipment; must have vision capabilities to do staking and mapping; lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
