The Director of Natural Resources is a valued member of our team at Chelan PUD. The incumbent advocates for and ensures the protection of our natural resources that support the continued production of low cost power. Effective direction of the Natural Resources Division is essential to balance regulatory compliance with cost-effective regulatory programs.

This position directs the operation and protection of the District’s Natural Resources including Parks and Recreation, Cultural Resources, Water Resources, Endangered Species, FERC License Compliance, State and Federal Permitting, and Fish and Wildlife programs consistent with District priorities and the policies set by the Board of Commissioners.

Experience Required:

A Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources or Environmental Science or a directly related field is required, with at least 10 years industry experience gained in business and environmental management. Direct supervisory experience is also required. Must possess considerable knowledge of natural resource programs for state, regional, and national river operators, agencies, and tribes, their government structures, and regulatory drivers.  Requires strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, the ability to grasp complex multi-faceted issues and sound political acumen.
