Coordinator, Vegetation Management Operations



As a member of Distribution Operations Support, facilitate PGE’s Vegetation Management Program handling of diverse customer work and job requests, accurately assessing and prioritizing public and employee safety risks, and efficiently scheduling, routing and dispatching department resources. The Vegetation Management Program supports PGE’s core business activities in Generation, Transmission and Distribution maintenance, repair, and system expansion work.

During emergency response this position will integrate service restoration efforts with line and repair dispatch, PGE line operations and contract tree crews to ensure reported trees on lines are cleared to enable electrical service restoration efforts.

Experience Required:


  • Working knowledge of Maximo, WMS, Field Manager, ARM Scheduler, Telogis, OMS, Fieldview, FSRP, Google maps, Outlook email, MS Excel, and MS Word
  • Working knowledge of tree trimming policies and programs, and line department policies/programs as they pertain to tree trimming.
  • Thorough knowledge of various types of wires for accurate identification.
  • Thorough knowledge of OPUC regulations regarding line clearance.
  • Excellent scheduling, planning and dispatching skills, and experience with PGE’s radio systems
  • Working knowledge of project management methodology
  • Working knowledge of the PGE-IBEW agreement, particularly the work rules.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communications skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide knowledgeable, friendly information during the customer’s initial phone contact.
  • Demonstrated negotiation and calming skills
  • Ability to process technical information into decisions and action plans, and translate technical communication to customers.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with a variety of people to accomplish goals.
  • Advanced problem solving, analysis, investigation and research skills with little to no supervision.
