Monitor and ensure regulatory compliance for the District’s system operations and related training and other assigned NERC standards.   Develops, delivers and administers training for systems operations and related staff.  Performs outage scheduling and special projects as needed.  Participates in regional initiatives and assists in carrying out tasks necessary to operate the bulk electric system, including acting as a backup supervisor and after hours duty supervisor.

Experience Required:

Bachelor’s degree (B. S., B. A.) in engineering, math, or a related technical study area from four-year college or university and seven years’ experience working in progressively responsible positions for a utility or energy company, with at least five (5) years experience working as a system operator or in a utility leadership role.   Requires effective interpersonal and communication skills in oral and written form and ability to think logically, multi-task, communicate well at all levels and be able to function effectively during emergency and/or power outage situations. Requires strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail; good planning, project management, and organizational skills, and strong computer skills. Requires system operations certification from NERC or the ability to acquire such certification within one year of hire.
