Website City of Palo Alto
The City of Palo Alto is seeking to hire a Sustainability Programs Administrator to work within its Utilities Program Services (UPS) group. The City has provided a full range of utility services (including electric, gas, and water) for over 100 years and has ambitious sustainability goals. UPS team members are at the center of sustainability activities, overseeing programs ranging from improving building efficiency to promoting electrification of buildings and transportation. For the Sustainability Programs Administrator position we are looking for candidates with strong project management skills and experience in the energy and/or water industries. Responsibilities include designing customer-centric programs, evaluating emerging technologies, setting program goals and tracking achievements, hiring vendors, and devising strategies to promote programs. The Sustainability Programs Administrator position is especially important at this time when Palo Alto has identified addressing climate change as a priority. Cities across the nation and nations across the globe are setting greenhouse gas emissions reduction goals, and the challenge of achieving those goals looms large. As a highly engaged community with a Utilities Department that provides 100% carbon neutral electric and gas portfolios, Palo Alto is positioned to be a leader in confronting that challenge at a local level, and the Sustainability Programs Administrator plays a key role in this effort. We are excited to hear from interested candidates. To learn more about this opportunity, please visit our job posting.
