Responsible for the technical assistance and support to end users through helpdesk ticketing system, telephone, and in person communication.  Creates and maintains Windows intermediate and end user builds and assists in development of standards of configuration for workstations.  Responds to user technical needs by determining the problem, implementing a solution, or triaging and communicating problem to other departmental staff.   Maintains and supports deployment of mobile devices (cell phones and tablets) and provides technical support and troubleshooting.  Frontline support for triaging and elevating cyber security risks and member of the Cyber Security Team.  Able to provision a system using enterprise imaging technologies and install at desktop in a clean and organized fashion. Responsible for set up and tear down of various audio/visual/computer needs for meetings and other events.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide technical support for a variety of business functions, software and devices, including desktops, laptops, printers, copiers, smart phones and tablets.
  • Assist end users and troubleshoot problems in a timely manner.
  • Respond to end user inquiries in a professional, cordial manner, and advocate for the end user until their problem has been satisfactorily resolved.
  • Communicate effectively with department resources to alert to issues with system operation, elevate issues appropriately within the technical department, or to champion customer needs.
  • Maintains record of hardware that is deployed to an end user.
  • Highly ethical individual who applies ethical standards of behavior to daily work activities.
  • Takes responsibility for actions and decisions and fosters a work environment where integrity is rewarded. Exercises discretion when involved in highly confidential and sensitive matters.
  • Follows company and departmental policies and enforces them with end users.
  • Create and maintain windows images and assists in the development of standards of configuration.
  • Deploy or capture desktop “images” using enterprise computer imaging technology.
  • Setup/takedown end user workstations in a clean, organized manner.
  • Provide frontline awareness with regards to virus and crypto locking software.  Able to recognize and report anomalies immediately.
  • Perform routine maintenance of devices and end user equipment including hardware cleaning both onsite and offsite.
  • Responsible for mobile (phone and tablet) application installation and maintenance and associated record keeping responsibilities.
  • Maintains documentation for both end users and IT staff.
  • Develops and maintains classroom syllabus for end user training such as basic Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows operating system.
  • Facilitates one on one and classroom instruction on IT related software and services.
  • Supports IT department goals and helps promote a positive team environment.
  • Participates in department meetings, internal committees or work groups as requested. Actively and positively participates in these meetings to brainstorm, find solutions, and share information.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned to meet team, department and Company goals while actively demonstrating accountability and responsibility for achieving desired outcomes and measurable results.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft operating systems including Windows 11 and Windows 10.
  • Applied experience in Active Directory including the ability to add/remove computers from the domain, manage user accounts, and have a basic understanding of group policy and how it’s applied.
  • Basic knowledge of cyber security “defense in-depth” practices.
  • Able to make appropriate and timely security decisions based on user action, or observation of indicators of compromise.
  • Working knowledge of mobile technologies including Apple IOS iPad and iPhone as well as Android phones and tablets.
  • Skilled at creating software deployment packages in support of automated deployment and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of power shell, or other scripting languages in support of automating computer provisioning and/or software deployment.
  • Strong understanding of browser based applications and the use of chrome and Microsoft Edge.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and provide end users with guidance and technical assistance.
  • Operate with broad direction and guidelines from supervisors.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems, understand and use technical manuals, plan and prioritize workload requirements.
  • Ability to install desktop equipment and upgrades, including bios, firmware and connections to related components.
  • Ability to learn a multitude of industry specific software packages.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other staff and the general public.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Physical Demands:

Receive, understand, evaluate and appropriately respond to communications and work-related forms, documents and other information from employees, the Board of Directors, customers and members of the public using available technology, in person and in a public setting when necessary.

Move to, from and within our buildings and across company-related property site locations, possibly for extended periods of time.  Movement to, from and within property locations may occur during inclement weather, extreme temperatures, rain or snow, strong winds, and during low visibility and low light conditions (e.g., evening, early morning, fog, etc.).

Able to physically manage under-desk computer installations, as well as, carry or unpack large orders of computers and monitors.

Able to manipulate and position a typical computer workstation, monitor, area printer, battery backup, and other associated peripherals.

Driving and Travel:

Drive a personal or company-owned vehicle on behalf of Central Lincoln in the performance        of duties that serve as the basis for this position.

Report for work and/or work-related appointments outside the office as scheduled during morning, afternoon and evening hours, even when day light is limited or non-existent, and possibly during inclement weather when directed to do so.

Travel occasionally via traditional modes of transportation (including airline travel) over long distances, some of which may involve one or more night stays out of town, both within and outside the state of Oregon.

Minimum Qualifications and Progression:

  • Two years’ experience working with a variety of microcomputer software, hardware and peripherals including Windows.
  • Two year college degree with academic course work in computer science, business technology, or related field preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of experience and education that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills and abilities required for the position will be considered in lieu of the outlined requirements.

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Work Schedule:

Monday - Thursday 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM  - 4 Day Workweek
