The primary purpose of this position is to request bids and quotations, prepare and issue purchase orders for stock and non-stock materials, equipment, public works projects, professional services, and services ensuring compliance as required to meet the business needs of the overall organization; make purchases in accordance with District requirements and processes, State of Washington laws, and within delegated purchase authority.

The successful candidate will be placed appropriate to their educations, certifications, and experience.

Target range for Procurement Specialist I:  $57,745 to $68,744
Target range for Procurement Specialist II: $63,520 to $75,619

Additional Information:

Minimum Education and Experience for Procurement Specialist I:

BA/BS in Business Administration or related
0 - 2 years experience with materials procurement and vendors

Minimum Education and Experience for Procurement Specialist II:

BA/BS in Business Administration or related
3 - 4 years experience with utility materials procurement and vendors

Education Substitution:

A BA/BS is preferred; however, substitution is allowed for those with an AA degree and two (2) additional years of related experience, preferably in utility and/or public sector procurement.

Licensing and Certifications:

Required: Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license

Preferred: Certification in utility procurement or similar program
