What are the current challenges at your utility?
HLP is experiencing a high growth rate in an era of supply-chain shortages. In addition, the HLP energy resource portfolio used to be strong but is seeing gaps brought about as a result of the environmental and political attitudes regarding our baseload products.
What do you see as the current challenges in the industry?
Stable and acceptable baseload resources, permitting of critical infrastructure, and insurance availability.
How does NWPPA help your utility and the industry with these challenges?
NWPPA provides great education for HLP employees and board members surrounding these challenges. The association also works as a recognized advocate with legislative members on our behalf.
Any hobbies outside of the public power world?
My hobbies are centered on following and supporting my kids with their activities and interests. I also spend a great deal of time on anything construction related. I like to build/construct/work with my hands.
