Fleet Mechanic Foreman

Prepare, organize and maintain departmental files, records, and index; both hardcopy and electronic. Maintain a clean and organized office, garage, work area and shop truck.

Produce required reports as needed.

Responsible for completing assigned work in a safe and efficient manner that is in conformance with all applicable regulations, to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operating condition of all fleet equipment

Provide professional customer service to internal customers by addressing and investigating operator notifications of damaged and/or malfunctioning automobiles, trucks or other equipment.

Ensure fleet is functioning properly by conducting timely routine diagnosis and maintenance including minor and major tune-ups and repairs on all types of vehicles and construction equipment.

Performs overhauls and services to assemblies and accessories including gasoline and diesel engines, electric motors, hybrid systems, axles, drive trains, transfer-cases, multi-speed transmissions and control systems including compressed air, vacuum and electric controls.

Performs routine inspections, maintenance and repair on aerial devices such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, cranes, and specialty-mounted equipment in compliance with OSHA and ANSI standards and regulations. Coordinate independent inspections on a regular and as needed basis with outside vendors.

Ensure that hydraulic and air brake systems, cooling systems, and steering and suspension systems are functioning properly by performing diagnosis and repair as needed.

Create daily job plans using trouble tickets, manuals, technical charts, schematics and experience.

Perform light to heavy diagnosis, troubleshooting and repairs of hydraulic systems such as pumps, valves, hoses and other components.

Perform on board computer diagnostic evaluation and electrical system trouble shooting.

Provide leadership and direction to other fleet maintenance personnel. Verify repairs before returning equipment to service.

Responsible for coordinating maintenance and repair of District fleet with outside vendors and agencies.
