Klickitat PUD is adding an IT Assistant position to the IT Section of the Engineering Department. The mission of the IT Section is to provide the highest level of technical leadership, and to deliver efficient, effective, and reliable technology solutions in a cost effective and secure manner to advance the service objectives of the PUD.

The IT Assistant will become the primary contact person for network client computer user support. Duties will include configuration and maintenance of network client computers, printers, and other peripherals, plus assistance in other network activities, as needed.

Desirable skills include: Layer 1 Communications. Network cabling, terminations, and testing. Wireless networking experience. Wireless Ethernet. Radio. Fiber. Knowledge and experience with Cisco network devices. Security skills.

Training and Experience: High School diploma, college preferred. Applicable Microsoft certification. MCSA or MCSE preferred. At least two years of recent closely related job experience.

Vera Water and Power, a Spokane Valley, Washington utility which distributes water and power is seeking applicants for the position of IT Manager for a one person IT department. The IT Manager reports directly to the General Manager and the following qualifications will be advantageous:

  • BS Degree - Computer Information Systems
  • Strong Interpersonal Skills
  • Programming and analysis experience in business computer systems
  • Working knowledge of:

Microsoft Management Console and Active Directory

SQL Server and have SQL language skills

COBOL (not required, but will be helpful)

  • Developed network installation, management, configuration and operation skills
  • Computer hardware and software troubleshooting experience
  • Experience in defining budget requirements for Information Technology activities.
  • Experience in systems programming, software maintenance, application maintenance, and user training.
  • Network capacity planning, contingency planning, and hardware standards adaptation.

Columbia River PUD is a progressive, financially sound utility with a well maintained electrical system and excellent benefits. This position requires an excellent understanding of TCP/IP and routing protocols. Knowledge of LAN, Wireless 801.x, and WAN. Programming experience in C++, Java, Cold Fusion, SQL, Oracle, MS-Office and Visual Studio. Experience and knowledge with software development lifecycle practices. Strong technical and analytical skills and ability to troubleshoot and solve problems quickly. Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently with minimum direct supervision, and willingness to take initiative and solve problems utilizing available resources.

PUD No. 1 of Lewis County is seeking applications for an IT Specialist to assist in troubleshooting a variety of technical support problems related to the Utilities technology systems; installs, maintains, troubleshoots and upgrades the Geographic Information System (G.I.S.) database; performs relational database management; assists with network administration activities and system security; assesses user training needs and provides necessary user training.  Maintains transmission and distribution maps in an electronic format, and performs engineering activities and information services system support.

Must be a graduate of a community, four-year or technical college with a two-year degree in information technology which could include Windows environments,  DOS, word processing, Access, SQL Server, LISP, Visual LISP and VB programming languages and/or network administration, GIS or equivalent education/experience sufficient to the perform the duties required. Coursework in drafting or CAD principles preferred. Utility drafting & CANMAP experience a plus. Valid Washington State driver’s license.  Salary range $3,800 - $4,300/mo. DOQ.

Network Engineer
Franklin PUD
Salary: $5,172-$6,981 per month

Responsible for design, security, implementation, operation and maintenance of IT and Broadband networks. Works with voice, video and telecommunications systems and fiber, twisted pair copper, and wireless network infrastructure. Prepares specs and contracts for procurement of equipment, performs analyses, assists in developing budgets. Minimum two-year related degree in computer technology and CCNA certification. Provides Broadband support by performing network extentions, gateway configurations, transport protocols, and by working with Retail Service Providers and vendors. Supports the overall goals and directions of the department and the mission and values of Franklin PUD.
